Community Writing Collaborative 

When it comes to studying housing equity, emphasis is often placed on hard facts and the construction of an intellectual or academic argument. The personal aspects of homelessness are forgotten. This project evaluates homelessness and housing insecurity through an emotional and cultural lens. An informal content analysis of songs was conducted to establish the cultural significance and emotions surrounding housing insecurity. A selection of songs were played on the radio, accompanied by commentary and personal anecdotes. The goal of the project was to reach the community, raise awareness, and explore the topic of homelessness through its emotional and cultural consequences.
