Undergraduate Prize in Community-Engaged Writing
The Community-Engaged Writing Award is intended to recognize student work that engages with the concepts, practices, and possibilities of civically-engaged writing created in classes in the Writing and Rhetoric Program.

Guidelines
Undergraduate Prize for Community-Engaged Writing: $200

Only one submission per person or group (collaborative writing projects are encouraged)

Submissions must include a cover sheet that provides student(s) name(s), as well as one primary contact email, address, and phone, and affiliated writing course.

Submissions may be composed in a variety of forms, such as academic essays, podcasts, policy papers, community publications, etc.

A 100-word abstract should be included with the submission detailing project’s research method, intended value to community partner, and the nature of the collaboration which produced the submitted work.

If a submission emerges from a community partnership, the following contact information must be included: contact person, organization name, address, and email. In addition, a brief acknowledgment that the community partner has read and authorized work for submission.
